Aloha!
This year's trip to Hawaii turned out to be another great time of vacation paradise and airsoft gaming. We ventured all about the island and played both indoor and outdoor airsoft while we were there.
Our first night included a dinner on the beach and the second day was scheduled for some indoor action.
There's a CQB setup in the back of the PowerEdge store not to mention a great shop and even nicer guys. Everyone was most impressed! They blasted each other for a few hours and loved it. Thanks again to all the PowerEdge crew for making us feel most welcome!
The next day we travelled around the island to stop and swim at different beaches. The island is spectacular as is the ocean and the warm waves it sends our way.
Finally, the weekend has arrived and it's time for the big game. Ninety-nine-players are on hand for this event!
The Airsoft Hawaii crew checks everyone in and chrono's our guns. They brief the troops, make up teams, and organize the first game. You can tell the ASH guys have been doing this a while now and exemplify a well run operation.
The ASH field is a nice mix of tall grass and trees plus obstacles both natural and man-made. It was particularly green and lush this time. The weather was warm as is pretty usual for this side of the island.
The atmosphere is casual and the players are very friendly. But, with so many people the games are nothing but intense! The firefights rage on the field but it doesn't change the great feeling all around.
By the end of the day we were ready to relax for the raffle. Our sponsors donated a nice selection of guns and other gear for everyone to partake.
Special thanks to Airsplat.com, Airsoft Extreme, FPS Magazine, COPS911, PowerEdge, Impact Games, and our very own Centurions in attendance.
We were only half way through the trip and having a blast! FRS radios kept us in touch throughout the hotel and Waikiki so we could easily connect for festivities.
The rest of the trip was spent on the beaches. Northshore... Southshore... All over the place! We snorkled, body-surfed, and enjoyed the spoils of the island including a hike to a "secret" waterfall that few know about.
As always, it was hard to leave and everyone wanted to stay... Signs of a nice trip! Savage Luau II succeeded once again in bringing people together to share some airsoft and vacation time with new friends.
We'll be planning another trip for next year Oct 12-19, 2005. Please e-mail Dave if you are interested in going. We get a group rate that can't be beat so the more the better.
Thanks again to everyone for a fabulous time. It was great to meet new friends and I look forward to seeing everyone in paradise again soon!
