Due to cuts in federal spending, the prison systems have taken a bulk of the financial blow.
Recent cuts have laid off prison guards, maintance workers and service staff. The prison systems has been out sourced to private management agencies and run by CEO's with there own sense of truth & justice.
Profits now control the way prisons are run.
The government has all but forgotten about the prisons and most of all the Prisoners. With prison control firmly in the hands of the private sector, the cost cutting began.
First, over-head was eliminated by reducing the number of armed guards. Violence against prisoners began to mount from one prisoner a killed a month to now at least one per week. The prisoners became too unruly to manage, so the Warden ordered all the prisoners to be in lockdown.
It has now gotten to the point where Prisoners have became too uncontrollable to even be let out of there cells to do basic maintaince tasks, so the prison began to fall a apart. Now resembling more of a dungeon than a prison, rust, broken lights & windows litter the facility.
The corrupt Warden has figured out, longer sentences equals more money from the government so he takes it upon himself to increase all the inmates sentences to life....or worse death.
Behind the scenes, the Warden is funneling seized weapons that are scheduled to be destroyed through the prison and reselling them to local street thugs for a hansom profit.
Which side will you choose?
