War Stories -cont'd

John's story is a good lead in for mine...I was 1 of the 3 VC in the bush...

Working with Carlos and another comrade, we decided to attack the ammo dump. Noting the wide-open spaces, we figured that in order to close the distance, we needed to creep through the swamp and trees leeding to the dump. Luckily, another comrade and I did some recon the previous night, and earlier that morning, I'd utilized the area as a sniping point.

After 20 minutes of skulking through the muck and thorns, we arrived in the bush next to the ammo dump. We were spotted by an alert capitalist pigdog, who I quickly dispatched. The damage was done, however, as the other swine began raining mortar and rifle fire on our position. Comrade Carlos took fire and was killed. His heroics will, of course, be recorded in the People's Square.

At this point, the jeep began checking for the remaining two of us. I crept around the tree I was using for cover, keeping it between the jeep and myself. I heard the call for someone flank us, and moved myself further in to protect my rear.

Unfortunately for my remaining comrade, he was taken out by the sniper who had snuck up behind us. My earlier positioning paid off, as the sniper had no angle from which to pick me off.

I looked out from the bushes to see another foolish american walking past, and so I sprayed him with a hail of fire, cutting him down.

I turned my attention back to the sniper to my rear, and we traded blind fire for a few more minutes. At that point I decided our mission had been successful enough...we had engaged several americans for a decent period of time, occupying their attention and preventing them from attacking the rest of our forces.

That being the case, I crept toward the sniper's location, and wait til he popped up, then called a "Parley" and escaped to join the rest of my comrades.
